Bootstrap delivers Skills for Jobs training in Care (January 2010)
Bootstrap has recently run its first highly successful Skills for Jobs Care course. Bootstrap is delivering the LSC-funded training on behalf of In-Training. The programme`s performance target is a 45% job outcome rate but the first tranche achieved an 80% job outcome.
The 13 week programme is aimed at people over 19 who are not working or working less than 16 hours a week. It includes 4 weeks basic care skills training, a further week of either basic care skills or induction training with the employer, 4 weeks on a work placement and, if relevant, a further 4 weeks of intensive employability skills and job search activity.
Bootstrap will now run the programme on a monthly basis in both Burnley and Blackburn.
