Supported Employment

Supported employment
Bootstrap delivers the disability-wide supported employment programme through our Supported Employment provision.

We also deliver a series of complimentary worklessness projects and programmes built on the supported employment model that are delivered with a range of partners including Work Choice for the Shaw Trust.

Social care service users

Bootstrap is commissioned by Blackburn with Darwen Social Services to find jobs for people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and sensory impairments, and to support their personal development in work. We also take referrals from the Community Mental Health Teams in the borough to help users of secondary mental health services to achieve their aspirations in employment, training and education.

People with common mental health conditions

Bootstrap is working with the local Primary Mental Health Service in the borough, providing a personal development, learning, supported employment and job retention service for people referred by their GP as a result of conditions such as stress, depression or anxiety who want to explore ways of remaining in or moving towards the world of work.
