The Work Programme

Bootstrap Enterprises is delivering the Work Programme across Pennine Lancashire for both prime contract holders – A4E and Ingeus.

Bootstrap's Work Programme delivery centres are at Tontine Street in Blackburn, Stephen House in Burnley and Melbourne House in Accrington.

Work Choice

In Blackburn with Darwen and in Hyndburn Bootstrap is delivering Work Choice for Shaw Trust and on behalf of the Department of Work and Pensions.

Through Work Choice Bootstrap will:
  • Hold a one to one meeting with an adviser
  • Agree a Plan tailored to your needs
  • Develop your skills and experience
  • Help you find employment
  • Help you make the transition to work
  • Provide ongoing support in-work.
Work Choice is open to people who want to work but are facing barriers to employment and need extra support, contact Bootstrap via your Disability Employment Adviser.

Bootstrap placements are based on Environmental Task Force and Voluntary Sector Option placements. During the 13 weeks some time may also be spent getting Work Experience with a local employer. Bootstrap can tailor this experience to match each individual's job goals.


Supported Employment

Bootstrap delivers the disability-wide supported employment programme for Blackburn with Darwen Care Trust Plus.

Bootstrap also delivers a series of complimentary worklessness projects and programmes built on the supported employment model that are delivered with a range of partners including the Primary Care Trust, Connexions, a4e, the Learning and Skills Council and the City Employment Strategy Pathfinder. Skills for Jobs - FREE courses in Blackburn and Burnley:

Introduction to Careers in Care
Linked to local employers and vacancies in the local labour market this part time training package prepares participants for jobs in the social care sector and includes some real work experience.

Retail Works - Free Retail Training
Retail Works is a nationally recognised training programme covering everything you need to know to prepare you to work in the retail sector.

Training for Job Applicants
Bootstrap delivers a wide range of training for job applicants covering confidence building, job search techniques, preparation for interviews and the transition to employment. We also deliver Literacy and Numeracy for Employment packages
