New Deal
Since 1998 Bootstrap has delivered Jobcentre Plus New Deal options across East Lancashire for participants on the Voluntary Sector Option, Environmental Task Force and 25+ Work Experience. Bootstrap is now the East Lancs New Deal delivery partner of the prime contractor TWL.
Bootstrap placements are based on Environmental Task Force and Voluntary Sector Option placements. During the 13 weeks some time may also be spent getting Work Experience with a local employer.
Bootstrap can tailor this experience to match each individual's job goals.
Supported Employment
Supported employment is a simple, straightforward concept. People with disabilities, health conditions or mental health support needs get the tailor-made help they need to move towards and into the world of work. Then they, and their employer, get the support they need to remove or minimise any barriers that might prevent them from using their talents and doing their job effectively.
Bootstrap Supported Employment left Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council`s control
at the start of 2008 to become an operational division of Bootstrap Enterprises. Bootstrap
is now contracted to deliver the supported employment programme for the Borough
Council for people with physical disabilities, sensory impairment, learning disability and mental ill-health.
Bootstrap Supported Employment also delivers a series of complimentary worklessness projects and programmes built on the Supported Employment Model which are delivered in partnership with A4e, Connexions, Workroutes, Blackburn with Darwen Primary Care Trust, Invest to Change and the Working Neighbourhoods Fund.
Sustainable Employment
As well as our New Deal, Supported Employment and
NDDP programmes, Bootstrap also run a range of other
initiatives offering retail training and work experience,
outdoor work reclaiming allotments, maintaining community sites and
gardening services, business administration, catering, care work, cleaning and
customer service.
