'Bootstrap in the Park' is a friendly and supportive day service for people with disabilities and health needs. The service provides opportunities to make friends, build confidence, learn new things and make a positive contribution to local life in Pennine Lancashire.
The service is themed around horticulture, parkland and garden care, rural art and live animal care, and is delivered in integrated settings in co-operation with a range of community groups, public sector and third sector partners. Find out more.
Personalisation and support planning
As people's social care becomes increasingly 'personalised' and more people have their own direct payments and even personal assistants, Bootstrap is working with Blackburn with Darwen Adult Social Services on a pilot programme to increase the number of social care users who have their own individual support plans.
Bootstrap's a team of support planners and brokers are working with social care users across the borough, helping them to create their own individual care plans and to consider the increasingly flexible way that they can arrange to have their social care needs met.
Supported Employment
Bootstrap's supported employment contract commissioned by Adult Social Services supports a large number of existing social care users to develop new skills, move towards the world of work, and find and keep real jobs.
